Making Fairycakes with my Brethren!
Yesterday, I went to Eli's house where we took up the task of making fairy cakes like the hard kids that we are! (BRAP)! Anywho, we went about making some very chocolatey buns by adding 6oz margarine, 6oz caster sugar, 6oz self-raising flour, 3 eggs and A LOT of cocoa powder into a large mixing bowl. After a lot of elbow grease and a few cheeky tastes here and there we had our mixture ready to put into some very fancy bun cases Elis's Mum has invested in from the very nice if not slightly overpriced Lakeland! So, we banged 12 in the oven (at about 180 degrees) and got out the hi-tech piping bag Eli's Mum had also purchased in Lakeland. Then we hit a slight problem. You see, having the very fancy bun cases and hi-tech equipment from Lakeland that we did, we decided to try to go for the professional finish by attempting to make butter cream frosting, which neither of us knew how to make. So, we whipped the laptop out! Admittedly, it probably wasn't the best idea to take it into the kitchen which was a tad messy by this point, but we did it anyway! We managed to find a recipe that told us to use 250g unsalted butter (which we decided was just being picky for the sake of being picky so used margarine instead), 250g icing sugar (we used ROYAL icing sugar for that extra touch), food colouring (we chose red which looked very effective), a pinch of salt and a 'splash' of milk. A SPLASH of milk?! What's all that about? How on earth do you measure a splash of milk? I left Eli to that bit, but tried to help her out by saying "maybe it's like the amount you would put in milky tea?" We just chucked it in, gave it a bit of elbow grease and hoped for the best! Well... it certainly LOOKED good. However, the taste was a tincy bit off (it had a very salty aftertaste which wasn't particularly pleasant) so we added quite a bit more icing sugar until we decided it was fit to go onto our fairy cakes! So, whilst the buns were cooling on a wire rack and Eli was rinsing out the piping bag (because it was it's first use), I surfed youtube for some videos on how to assemble the thing and, more to the point, how to actually use it and get that professional looking finish fit for the likes of Nikki or whatever her name is... I'm gonna have to google that now... Nigella Lawson! That's the one! Anywho, so we looked at a few videos and found one created by somebody de la Cruz who was slightly patronising but gave us the information we needed! Soon we were icing our buns: me squeezing and Eli directing because, believe it or not, it was actually a two man (or girl in our cases) job! We managed to get the little professonal flick finish on a few of them but on some it did fall slightly flat but, on the whole, I think they looked pretty good myself! We dusted them with a sprinkling of edible glitter and bon appetite! Our fairy cakes were finished! We then celebrated our finishing of our very fancy looking buns by eating one each as well as some magic stars, dairy milk and strawberry pencils whilst watching The Vault (a channel that plays lots of different music which resulted in a lot of consultation on google as to who was in which band and whether they were in films as well e.t.c.)! But yes, I had a good day so, thankyou Eli! :D
Happy Mother's Day!
It's Mother's Day!!! And I would just like to say Happy Mother's Day to my Mum! She is truly amazing! I admire her for raising myself and my brother like she has and want to thank her for all the support she has given us both over the years! I hope she has a brilliant day because she deserves it 100%! She is a fantastic mother no matter what anyone else says and I love her very much! And now I'm starting to get slightly teary eyed so, I hope you liked your presents and card Mum and enjoyed your breakfast (a "boiled" egg and toasted muffin and croissants) in bed and wish you a very Happy Mother's Day! :) xxxxx

Party!
I seem to have been to a fair few parties recently! More so than usual! Infact wait, that kind of sounds like I'm a right wild child (which I'm not)! Anywho, it's been pretty good going to all these parties! So, I would like to say "Happy Birthday!" to all my friends who have turned 16 so far and again to my friends who will be turning 16 throughout the rest of the year! And a huge thankyou to Lauren, Eli, Amie and Emma for all inviting me to your fabulous parties! They were all amazing and I had such a wonderful time at all of them! No parties planned for this weekend but, to be honest, I don't particularly mind because I've had such a brilliant time at all of the ones I've been to recently! Whooooo! Okay, short blog post thingy I know but, I typed out like 2 or 3 and they didn't post so I'm hoping this one will work and my blog won't look as bare! Hahaha! :)
